HOW TO CHOOSE

Which Ecuador Trip Package Is Right for You?

You have 3 or 4 days

Pick one region and see it properly. Cotopaxi, Quilotoa and Baños is the classic volcano loop; Cotopaxi to Cuenca in 4 days adds the colonial south and ends in Cuenca, so you save the drive back.

You have 5 to 7 days

This is where Ecuador trips start to feel complete. The 7-day Ecuador circuit runs the Avenue of the Volcanoes from Quito to Cuenca. For the far north and the Colombian border, take the 5-day Northern Ecuador and Las Lajas route instead.

You want the Amazon

Choose by how deep you want to go. Quito to Tena in 5 days mixes Baños and river towns; La Casa del Suizo is a comfortable lodge on the Napo; Yasuní is the most remote and the best for wildlife.

You also want the Galápagos

Most travelers who come this far add the islands. Spend 5 to 7 days on the mainland, then fly from Quito for 4 to 7 days in the Galápagos. See our Galápagos trips from Quito or send us your dates and we will join both parts into one plan.

Just your group or a small group?

Every package above runs as a trip for your group, so the per-person price drops as the group grows. Two travelers pay more per person than four, but you set the pace and the stops.

ADD THE ISLANDS

Galápagos Trips from Quito – 4 to 7 Days

Finish your Ecuador trip on the islands: giant tortoises in the highlands, sea lions on the beach and snorkeling days from Santa Cruz and Isabela.

From $569 per person · 4 days on Santa Cruz, island hotels, guides and transfers

See Galápagos Trips

Want both in one plan? See our Ecuador and Galapagos tours of 9, 12 or 14 days, or send us your dates.

COST AND TIMING

How Much Ecuador Vacation Packages Cost and When to Go

What Ecuador travel packages cost

For two travelers, our Ecuador travel packages cost between about $140 and $380 per person per day, and most trips sit around $220 to $250. The 5-day Amazon route is the least expensive per day; Yasuní is the most, because of river transport and lodge meals. Groups of four pay less, from about $92 per person per day.

When to book Ecuador trips

Ecuador has no bad month, but the Andes are driest from June to September and the trails are clearest early in the day all year. Book four to eight weeks ahead for July, August and the December holidays, when guides and the best hotels fill first.

Altitude and pace

Quito sits at 2,850 m and Cotopaxi National Park at about 3,800 m. Every package spends its first hours in or around Quito and builds up slowly, and the Amazon trips drop to warm, low ground after the first day.

All our Ecuador trips start in Quito. Travel between the Andes, the cloud forest, and the Amazon in transport with hotel pickup included — no logistics to worry about.

What’s Included

Every package includes accommodation, transport, a bilingual local guide, entrance fees, and most meals. No hidden costs — the price you see is the price you pay.

Best Time to Visit

Ecuador is a year-round destination. June to September brings the driest trails in the Andes, while the Amazon stays lush in every season — Ecuador vacation packages work in any month.

WHY TRAVEL WITH A LOCAL TEAM

Ecuador Tours with a Local Tour Operator in Quito

Every Ecuador tour package on this page runs just for your group: the vehicle, the driver and the bilingual guide travel only with your group, on the dates you choose. There is no fixed departure to wait for and no bus of strangers to share. As a local Ecuador tour operator based in Quito, we plan each route ourselves and meet you at your hotel on day one.

Does not mean you pay for empty seats. The table above shows two prices: what each traveler pays when two of you travel together, and the lower group price from four travelers.

  • Your dates, your pace: add a day, skip a stop or change a hotel before you book.
  • One local team: the people who answer your first message are the ones who run your trip in Ecuador.
  • Clear prices: every package lists what is included and what is not, including the flights you book yourself.
  • Mainland and islands in one plan: our Ecuador and Galápagos tours join the Andes, the Amazon and the islands in 9, 12 or 14 days.

Tell us your dates and how many travelers you are, and a Quito Trips specialist replies personally within 24 hours: plan your Ecuador tour.

GOOD TO KNOW

Ecuador Trips: Frequently Asked Questions

What are the best Ecuador trips for first-time visitors?

For a first trip to Ecuador, combine Quito with Cotopaxi National Park, the Quilotoa Lagoon, and the Mindo cloud forest. With 5 to 7 days you can add the Amazon rainforest — our most popular Ecuador tour packages cover exactly that route.

How much does a trip to Ecuador cost?

Multi-day Ecuador travel packages from Quito typically range from about $100 per day for group tours to $250+ per day for trips, including hotels, transport, guides, and most meals. Flights to Ecuador are extra.

How many days do you need in Ecuador?

A good Ecuador itinerary needs 5 to 10 days on the mainland: 2 days for Quito and the surrounding Andes, 2 to 3 days for Cotopaxi and Quilotoa, and 2 to 3 days for the Amazon or the cloud forest.

What is included in an Ecuador tour package?

Our packages include accommodation, transport with hotel pickup in Quito, a bilingual naturalist guide, entrance fees to national parks, and most meals. No hidden costs or surprise fees.

Do Ecuador vacation packages include the Galapagos Islands?

The Galapagos Islands are a separate flight from Quito, so they are booked as their own package. Our Ecuador and Galapagos tours do this for you in 9, 12 or 14 days. Many travelers combine a mainland Ecuador trip with a Galapagos extension — see our Galapagos trip packages for options.

What is the best month to visit Ecuador?

June to September is the driest season in the Andes, with the clearest views of Cotopaxi and Chimborazo. December to May brings afternoon showers in the highlands but greener landscapes and fewer travelers. The Amazon is wet all year, so any month works for a rainforest package.

Is it cheaper to travel Ecuador with a package?

For two or more travelers, usually yes. A driver, a bilingual guide, park entrances and hotels booked one by one cost more than a package that bundles them. Solo travelers on a tight budget can spend less on public buses, but give up time and flexibility.

Can I customize an Ecuador vacation package?

Yes. You can add days, change hotels, join two packages or add the Galápagos. Send your dates and interests through our Plan My Trip form and we reply within 24 hours with an adjusted route and price.

Do I need to book Ecuador tours in advance?

Book four to eight weeks ahead for July, August and the December holidays. The rest of the year, two to three weeks is usually enough, and we can often run a trip with a few days of notice.

Is altitude a problem on Ecuador trips?

Quito is at 2,850 m and Cotopaxi National Park at about 3,800 m, so most travelers feel the altitude on the first day. Our packages start gently in Quito, keep hikes short at first and avoid sleeping above 3,500 m.

What should I pack for an Ecuador tour package?

Pack layers: it can be 5 °C at dawn on Cotopaxi and 30 °C in the Amazon the same week. Bring a rain jacket, sun protection, comfortable walking shoes, long sleeves for the rainforest and a small daypack.

How much should I tip a tour guide in Ecuador?

Tipping is appreciated but never required. A common amount is 10 to 20 dollars per day for a local guide and 5 to 10 dollars per day for the driver, shared by the group.

How do I combine mainland Ecuador with the Galápagos?

Flights to the Galápagos leave Quito and Guayaquil every morning, and many stop in Guayaquil, so plan a full travel day. The usual order is 5 to 7 days on the mainland first, then 4 to 7 days on the islands.

Which Ecuador tour package is best for a first trip?

For a first visit with a week, the 7-day Ecuador circuit covers Quito, Cotopaxi, Quilotoa, Chimborazo and Cuenca without backtracking. With five days, pair the Andes with the Amazon on the Quito to Tena route.
