Quito Trips Terms and Conditions
Quito Trips is a travel agency dedicated to the promotion and sale of tourist services in Ecuador, including day tours, customized packages, transfers, and cultural experiences.
1. Booking Process
• Bookings can be made through the web form, email, or official contact channels.
• All bookings are subject to availability.
• To confirm a service, a deposit or full payment may be required, depending on the type of tour.
2. Prices and Payments
• Prices are expressed in US dollars (USD), unless otherwise indicated.
• Quito Trips reserves the right to modify rates without prior notice before booking confirmation.
• Payments can be made by:
1. Bank transfer

- 3. Electronic payment platforms
- 4. Cash (if applicable)
Any bank charges or international fees will be the responsibility of the client.
3. Cancellation Policy
Cancellations must be requested in writing.
Day Tours (Quito and surrounding areas)
• More than 15 days prior: 50% refund
• 2 to 15 days prior: 30% refund
• Less than 48 hours prior: non-refundable
Short Packages (3 to 6 days)
• More than 7 days prior: 70% refund
• 3 to 7 days prior: 50% refund
• Less than 3 days prior: non-refundable
Long Packages (9 to 30 days)
• More than 7 days prior: 70% refund
• 3 to 7 days prior: 50% refund
• Less than 3 days prior: non-refundable
9-Day Tour:
• More than 15 days prior: 70% refund.
• 7-15 days: 60% refund.
• 3-7 days: 50% refund.
• Less than 3 days: No refund.
15-Day Tour:
• More than 30 days prior: 70% refund.
• 15-30 days prior: 60% refund.
• 7-15 days prior: 50% refund.
• Less than 7 days prior: No refund.
20-30 Day Tour:
• More than 45 days prior: 70% refund.
• 30-45 days prior: 60% refund.
• 15-30 days prior: 50% refund.
• Less than 15 days: No refund.
4. Galapagos Cancellation Policy
Conditions
• All reservations are subject to availability at hotels, on boats, on flights, and with authorized local operators.
• For reservations made less than 30 days in advance, immediate full payment may be required.
Fees and Special Taxes
Prices do not include:
• International Flights
• Transit Control Card (TCT)
• Galapagos National Park Entrance Fee
• Municipal Tax (INGALA, if applicable)
These prices may change without prior notice due to government regulations.
Fees are expressed in USD.
Due to the strict policies of local suppliers, hotels, and cruise lines:
Land Packages (Island Hopping)
• More than 45 days prior: 30% penalty
• 30 to 44 days prior: 50% penalty
• 15 to 29 days prior: 80% penalty
• Less than 20 days prior: 100% non-refundable
Cancellations must be requested in writing.
Refunds, if applicable, may take between 10 and 20 days depending on the supplier.
Date Changes
• Changes are subject to availability.
• Administrative fees may apply.
• Changes made less than 20 days prior generally incur a penalty.
• Some services do not allow modifications once issued (e.g., flights or cruises).
Required Documentation
The passenger is responsible for:
• Valid passport (minimum 6 months validity recommended).
• Meeting immigration requirements.
• Present your TCT card before the flight.
• Comply with Galapagos National Park regulations.
Quito Trips is not responsible for denied boarding due to incomplete documentation.
Climate and Natural Conditions
Galapagos is a protected natural destination. Itineraries may be modified due to:
• Weather conditions
• Galapagos National Park regulations
• Maritime regulations
• Passenger safety
No refunds will be issued for itinerary changes resulting from these circumstances.
Customer Responsibility
Activities may include:
• Snorkeling
• Sailing
• Hiking on uneven terrain
• Wildlife viewing
All passengers agree to respect the regulations of Galapagos National Park and local operators regarding the protection of species and natural habitats.
This includes:
• Not touching, feeding, or inappropriately approaching wildlife.
• Not removing, damaging, or collecting plants, rocks, shells, or other natural elements.
• Do not litter outside designated areas or pollute water sources or protected areas.
Prohibitions
The following are strictly prohibited:
• Introducing invasive species (plants, animals, seeds, unauthorized food).
• Smoking outside authorized areas.
• Carrying out unauthorized activities that may disrupt ecosystems.
Failure to comply with these rules may result in:
• Expulsion from the tour without refund.
• Notification to local authorities.
• Legal liability for damage caused to wildlife, flora, or ecosystems.
Quitotrip promotes sustainable tourism practices and environmental education: We prioritize certified suppliers and local operators committed to conservation and promote respect for visitor limits in sensitive areas. We also encourage the reduction of single-use plastics and proper waste management during the tour.
Quitotrip guarantees that all tours comply with the regulations of the Galapagos National Park, as well as with Ecuadorian environmental laws, ensuring that every activity is safe for local flora and fauna.
5. No-Show Policy
In case of no-show:
• A 100% penalty applies
• No refund
• No rescheduling
6. Force Majeure
Quitotrip will not be responsible for cancellations or moldifications due to:
• Natural disasters
• Pandemics
• Government restrictions
• Strikes
• Airport closures
• Events beyond reasonable contro
7. Travel Insurance (Recommended)
It is strongly recommended to purchase insurance that covers:
• Medical emergencies
• Air evacuation
• Cancellations
• Lost luggage
• Accidents during water activities
8. Limitation of Liability
Quitotrip acts as an intermediary between the client and tourism providers (hotels, transportation, local guides, etc.).
Quito trip will not be liable for:
• Flight delays
• Cancellations by third parties
• Lost luggage
• Accidents beyond its direct control
• Force majeure events
9. Website Use
All content on Quito trip.com (text, photographs, design, logos) is protected by intellectual property rights.
Its reproduction, in whole or in part, is prohibited without written authorization.
10. Data Protection
The personal information provided by the client will be used solely for:
• Processing reservations
• Operational coordination
• Sending information related to the contracted service
Quito trip does not sell or share personal data with third parties unrelated to the provision of the service.
11. Applicable Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Ecuador. Any dispute will be resolved before the competent authorities of the country.
