Ecuador and Galapagos Tours: Compare Our Three Combos
Our Ecuador and Galapagos tours are trips that start in Quito, cross the Andes (and, on two of them, the Amazon) with your own guide and driver, and finish with land-based island hopping in the Galápagos, sleeping in hotels. Choose 9, 12 or 14 days, from USD 1,990 per person for two travelers, flights not included.
"Pedro was a fantastic tour guide. I'd highly recommend booking this tour, it's a combo of shared tours with a guide and a tour. What's even better is he acts as your have your own personal photographer and if you have dietary requirements this is perfect, since we don't know the language Pedro handled everything. He was professional, communicative and always on time. We saw so much stunning wildlife and the tour it's self was a kinda flexible...."

How Our Ecuador and Galapagos Tours Work
Mainland First, Islands Last
You start in Quito, travel the Andes by vehicle with your guide and then fly to Baltra from Quito or Guayaquil. Ending on the islands means your last days are warm, relaxed and close to the beach.
What's Included
Hotels, transport and a bilingual guide on the mainland, entrances, Galápagos transfers, speedboats and guided excursions. Flights and the USD 200 park fee are quoted separately.
Best Time to Go
Any month works. The Andes dry season runs from June to September; in the Galápagos, the warm, wet season (December to May) brings calm seas and warm water, and the cool, dry season (June to November) brings more marine life. Book three to six months ahead for yacht days.
Our combos cost from USD 1,990 per person for 9 days to USD 3,390 for 14 days, for two travelers. On top of the land price you pay the round-trip flight to the Galápagos (usually USD 350 to 600 per person, depending on season), the Galápagos National Park fee (USD 200 per foreign adult) and the Transit Control Card (USD 20). As a guide, two travelers spend about USD 2,600 to 4,200 per person in total, depending on the combo.
What You See on the Islands
The Galápagos are volcanic islands in the Pacific Ocean, about 600 miles (1,000 km) off the coast of Ecuador, and almost all of them are protected as the Galápagos National Park. On every Ecuador Galapagos tour in this collection you meet giant tortoises in the Santa Cruz highlands, marine iguanas on the black lava shore, sea lions sleeping on the docks and blue-footed boobies nesting on the coast. The 12 and 14 day tours add Isabela and a yacht day, where the marine life is at its richest: sea turtles, reef sharks, rays and penguins.
Unlike most Ecuador Galapagos vacation packages, ours are land-based and on the mainland: you choose the dates, sleep in hotels on the islands and never share a cabin on a ship.
Tell us your dates and what you would like to see. A travel specialist from our team in Quito will reply with a day-by-day itinerary and a clear price, usually within 24 hours.

GOOD TO KNOW
Ecuador and Galapagos Tours: Frequently Asked Questions
How many days do I need for Ecuador and the Galápagos?
Nine days is the minimum to see the Andes, the Amazon and the islands without rushing. With 12 to 14 days you add a second island, a yacht day, or the southern Andes and Cuenca.
How much does an Ecuador and Galápagos tour cost?
Our combos start at USD 1,990 per person for 9 days, USD 2,690 for 12 days and USD 3,390 for 14 days, for two travelers. Flights to the islands, the USD 200 park fee and the USD 20 Transit Control Card are extra.
Should I visit the Galápagos first or the mainland first?
We recommend the mainland first. You adapt to the altitude in Quito and the Andes while you are fresh, and you finish with warm, relaxing days on the islands before flying home.
Are flights to the Galápagos included?
No. Fares change every day, so we quote the flight from Quito or Guayaquil to Baltra separately and book it with your tour so the dates match.
Is a land-based trip better than a Galápagos cruise?
For most first-time visitors, yes: you sleep in hotels, the boat rides are shorter and the price is much lower. A cruise is only better if you want the remote western and northern islands.
Will we travel with other people?
Yes. On the mainland you travel with your own bilingual guide and driver. In the Galápagos you stay in hotels and join guided excursions, which can also be booked just for your group.
Can you adapt a combo for a family, a honeymoon or older travelers?
Yes. We adjust the pace, the hotels and the activities: shorter walks, family rooms, a romantic lodge or a rest day. Tell us who is traveling and we will adapt it.
When is the best time to visit Ecuador and the Galápagos?
Any month works. June to September is driest in the Andes, December to May brings warm water and calm seas in the Galápagos, and the Amazon is green all year.
What happens with the altitude?
Quito is at 2,850 m and some visits go above 4,000 m. The itineraries climb gradually, the highest points are optional, and your guide adapts the day if you feel unwell.
What is your cancellation policy?
Cancellations must be requested in writing. For packages of 9 to 30 days you get a 70% refund more than 7 days before departure, 50% between 3 and 7 days, and no refund within 3 days.
We arrived in Quito a couple of days before flying to Baltra for our Galápagos cruise. After making our reservation, we switched hotels, but the company quickly adjusted our pickup location without any issues. Our guide, Ayrton, communicated with us through WhatsApp, and everything was seamless from the start. Before beginning the tour, he took the time to learn more about us and what we wanted from the day. He listened carefully and adjusted several activities based on our interests and preferences. Ayrton is only 28, I believe, but this young man was truly outstanding. He knows the history, geography, weather, and topography of Ecuador exceptionally well. Just as importantly, he understands what excellent service looks like. We could not have asked for a better guide!

Experiencia inolvidable!

Awe- inspiring
Highly recommend this tour!! I travel solo, so it was just me and the guide which is exactly what I wanted. No large tour group or having to make awkward conversations with strangers. The tour is tailored to you. What I mean by that is, if you need to use the restroom or want to stop for snacks, just tell your guide and they’ll stop. If you want to skip the lagoon, you can do that. It’s more than just those things, but the point is that they want you to have a good time and will do what they can to make sure you are happy and comfortable. The horseback riding is super fun, and the scenery is stunning.

A Trip Highlight
I truly had an wonderful time on this experience. I'd never be comfortable navigating the drives on my own, so having Ayrton there getting me to the gorgeous locations I'd otherwise miss and providing all sorts of help and insight, was an absolute blessing. I'd highly recommend this experience and Ayrton!
